Hi, I’m Matt
Freelance WordPress Developer
I’m a freelance WordPress and PHP developer with over a decade across software, startups and digital strategy, including CTO roles at two startups. I build custom themes, plugins and integrations – the development layer, not the pitch deck. I’m also the author of Atomix One, a hybrid WordPress theme currently in review for the WordPress.org theme directory.
I work two ways. For agencies, I’m extra development capacity – white-label, under your brand, in your process, no contact with your clients. For businesses, I take on builds, rescues and ongoing work directly. Currently available for freelance and contract work, 2 – 3 days a week, remote across the UK or on-site in London.

Whether it comes from you or your client, I work out what the thing actually needs to do, and ask the awkward questions before the build rather than halfway through it.
2 Scope & Estimate
You get a clear estimate and timeline up front, with the risky parts flagged as risky. If something turns out bigger than expected, you hear about it that day.
3 Build
Clean, standards-compliant WordPress and PHP. No mystery plugins, no page builder sprawl, nothing that only works because I built it.
4 Fit Your Process
Your repo, your branching model, your project tool, your standups. White-label throughout – under your brand, and I don’t contact your clients unless you want me to.
5 Document & Hand Over
Every build comes with documentation your team can use: how it’s structured, how it works, and what’s needed to extend it later.
6 Ongoing Support
I don’t vanish at launch. Retainers, ad hoc fixes, or just picking up the phone six months later when something breaks.
